What is Cryo Sculpting?

Cryo Sculpting is a new form of fat freezing (cryolipolysis) and body contouring. We use the newest & most innovative cryo-aesthetics equipment currently available.

Utilizing our specialized equipment, liquid CO2 is instantly transformed into a dry gas. This hyper-cooled gas is sprayed on the treatment area at a high velocity. This allows us to achieve deeper penetration and faster cooling, overcoming the resistance of hardened fat cells.

This technique is safe, effective, and comfortable.

What is Cryolipolysis?

In simple terms, it’s a method of freezing fat cells below the skin’s surface (subcutaneous fat) in order to destroy them. By reducing fat in this manner, we are able to reshape the contours of the body in a non-invasive way.

Prior to Cryo Sculpting, the most common types of cryolipolysis treatments have been CoolSculpting, Cryoskin & Cryo T-Shock.

For more information, please see Cryolipolysis on Wikipedia.

What is liquid CO2?

Liquid CO2 is carbon dioxide gas that is highly compressed and cooled to a liquid form.

For more information, please see Supercritical carbon dioxide on Wikipedia.

What should I wear to a Cryo Sculpting appointment?

Please wear loose clothing or underwear / bathing suit which allows complete access to treatment area.

This is especially important when the following areas are being treated:

  • Lower tummy/stomach
  • Back upper legs / thighs
  • Outer thighs
  • Butt

For your convenience, we also have complimentary disposable panties and bras when/if needed.

What should I do to prepare for a Cryo Sculpting appointment?
  • Be sure to wear or bring the appropriate clothing (see above for details)
  • Increase water intake (preferably with lemon)
  • If possible, avoid caffeine day of treatment
  • Do not wear / apply any creams in the treatment area
  • If possible, avoid doing anything to artificially increase body temp (no warm clothes)
  • In cold climates avoid using car seat heaters
  • No working out / exercise before
  • Skin should be free of sweat
  • Note any marks, scars, or sores in treatment area prior to treatment (We’ll also bring these to your attention)
How many cryo sculpting sessions will I need?

Each individual will respond differently to a Cryo Sculpting treatment. Generally speaking, more than one treatment will be needed to see longer-lasting results.

Please see our Booking page to see our full price list and Cryo package discounts.

How long does a Cryo sculpting session last?

It depends on the area(s) being treated. We usually reserve 30 minutes for each appointment, where multiple areas can be treated during that time. Spray time per section of the treatment area is generally 3-5 minutes.

How long will it take to see results after a Cryo sculpting treatment?

It really depends on the individual, and what type of treatment we’re doing.

For example, if we’re doing some Cryo Sculpting (fat freezing) in the stomach/tummy area, some may see a result within a week of the first session. Sometimes, due to the inflammation & fat cell reduction (constriction) that results from the cold therapy, some may see some difference after the first session.

Much of the results also depend on the individual, their body, and their overall health habits. The better the individual takes care of themselves, the more likely the better result.

General rule of thumb is to plan to have at least 6 sessions over 2-3 months. If we don’t see trackable results within about 5 weeks and 3 treatments, we should take time to reassess the treatment protocols.

What are the contraindications of Cryo sculpting?

We do not recommend Cryo Sculpting for those with the following conditions:

  • Cancer (active or recent)
  • Pregnancy (ok for pain management or edema – but an OBGYN must sign-off)
  • Blood clotting disorders
  • Installed pain pumps
What should I do after a Cryo sculpting session to maximize my results?

We recommend following these best practices & guidelines:

  • Continue to increase your water intake and add lemon and/or apple cider vinegar if possible
  • Avoid alcohol after treatment (1 day)
  • Exercise daily for 15-30 minutes
  • Massage the area. Optional: wear compression clothing if available
  • Avoid sugars (especially fructose), refined grains (especially gluten), and chemically modified fats
  • Limit high salt foods for 1-2 days post-treatment
  • Take Magnesium or Herbs such as Goldensea, Calendula, Echinacea, and Astragalus
  • Do deep breathing exercises
  • Perform dry brushing in sweeping motions, always toward the heart

The above are all known to promote healthy lymphatic drainage.

How does Cryotherapy work for pain management?

Our localized cryotherapy helps by reducing inflammation and rapidly cooling sore areas. The thermal shock causes the body to trigger itself into recovery/healing mode too by increasing the production of “feel-good” hormones.

Also:

  • The body will increase its respiratory rate, thereby increasing oxygen intake
  • Blood vessels will subsequently dilate to 4x their resting size, which helps with muscle relaxation (making muscles up to 25% looser)
  • Reduces pain levels by slowing synaptic communication between nerves (somewhat acts as an opioid)

If it’s a long-term injury, our cryotherapy treatments can help temporarily relieve the symptoms.
